(WashingtonDC.CityRegions.Com, October 30, 2013 ) McLean, Washington -- Haus and Garten, distributor of Barracuda Bypass Pruning Shears announced today, that two more of Amazon.com's top reviewers gave their positive reviews of the company's pruning shear products.
Jeff Lane, Haus and Garten brand manager for the marketing division said the top reviewers were Gen of North Coast Gardening and Liza Learns of North Carolina.
Gen noted the pruning shears have a similar look, they also have some upgrades which make them a better product. "Barracuda Hedge Shears blade is much higher quality, and has not yet needed sharpening even after the testing I made."
In addition, the sap groove on these is much larger and has an interesting texture into it which makes them more effective at catching the stickiness and diverting it to the sap groove. This results for easier cuts, cleaner shears, and an overall much better pruning experience. The spring on these is also an improvement, because it doesn't slip off and get lost in the garden while pruning.
The pruners look almost identical to Felco pruners, and have a very similar feature set. However, even though most people think of Felco pruners as being top-of-the-line. "I actually don't like them very much because I find their blades are made of a low-quality metal which need constant sharpening. Even after two hours only of pruning in the garden, the blades will feel dull. They also get gummed up easily with sap, despite having a sap groove."
She said Barracuda Pruning Shears blade is of much higher quality, and has not yet needed sharpening since she tested it.
Liza Learns of North Carolina, for his part said, she used the Barracuda Hedge Shears and trimmed 30 overgrown rose bushes, lots of low hanging tree branches in the yard. She also cut the heads of sunflowers in the garden and harvested the seeds. "These shears cut through stems and branches up to 1/4" with very little effort. They cut through branches up to 1/2" with just a little extra pressure. The handles are designed ergonomically for a comfortable grip and with a non-slip coating. The blades are slightly angled, to avoid having to bend your wrist to get the correct angle for cutting. They have a metal spring to automatically open the blades after every cut, which not every pair of shears can claim."
Ms Learns said the part she liked best about them is that they're all metal - everything from the blades to the rivets, to the gears, and to the safety lock. She was very impressed with the blades, which are securely fastened together to give the maximum cutting surface and are extremely sharp. Amazon's Top 100 reviewer Dre has already reviewed the product and confirmed it's durability.
